In the world of boxing, fighters spar in and out the ring, often psyching each other out with trash talk ahead of games.
However, Conor McGregor has done a complete 180° and called a truce before a huge event that took place last weekend.
The Irish martial arts expert was set to take on Dustin Poirier at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, on a mission to defend his title from having beat his opponent in 2014.
Prior to their battle, McGregor took it upon himself to donate a whopping $500,000 (£365k) to Poirier’s Good Fight Foundation.

The foundation, created by UFC lightweight Poirier and his wife, turns memorabilia into new memories by auctioning off pieces from his career – from shorts to shirts to hand wraps.
They then donate money to underserved communities in their hometown of Louisiana, America, helping people struggling with food insecurity, healthcare or environmental disaster.
The incredible foundation has also helped build water wells at orphanages in Uganda.

Honoured by McGregor’s gift, Poirier revealed just how grateful he was, albeit careful not to let fans think the rivals were too pally.
Poirier, also known as The Diamond, said: “I don’t want to make it seem like we’re up here giving each other back massages, but Conor, I just want to clear the air.
“Conor’s team, McGregor Sport & Entertainment, did reach out to my foundation and they are starting the process toward that donation.”

Speaking at the press conference on fight night, Poirier added: “Conor, man to man, you’re going to help a lot of people with that.”
It was a double win for him, who not only received funds to his organisation but also triumphed over McGregor in the UFC 257 title defeat.
The fighting philanthropist also said he believes in the importance for a man to mature and recognise the position he’s in if he can help others.
They might not be swapping back massages, but sounds like the start of a blossoming bromance.
