We are raised to recognise the species that exist on earth, whether humans, chimps or our pet pooches, yet what about creatures who don’t live in plain view?
Now, a new human-like skull has been discovered that neither aligns with homo sapiens or apes, which poses the question, who or what is it?
In addition to this discovery, it is not just one but four skulls that have been unearthed and separated by over 2,000km, which suggests the unidentified beings lived in different locations.
Aboriginal experts Steven and Evan Strong have been delving into the findings, measuring the skulls and questioning how they are different from those of humans.
Firstly, it’s important to understand the dimensions of a human skull, which has an average depth of 15cm. It also has three unattached segments of skull plate with the sutures not fully fused until after a child is born to allow for some elasticity as the baby’s brain grows.
In comparison, the new skull measures 19cm in depth. It is also shaped differently, with no notable bone beyond the eyebrow earning it its nickname the ‘no-forehead skull’.
Speaking about the discovery, found at an Australian burial, father and son duo Steven and Evan explained the disparities in their world-renowned blog Forgotten Origin.
They wrote: “It is all about sutures, three in fact, whether way back with Lucy the Australopithecus [first hominin fossils to represent the human skeleton] or today, hominids have sutures in the skull plate, and being unjoined until after birth creates capacity for a human/hominid brain to increase.
“Primates, apes and monkeys share thick sagittal bone keel running across the top of the skull thus completely inhibiting the ability to grow and unable to accommodate an increase in brain size.”
They continued: “Any departure from three automatically disqualifies membership in the hominid genetic club. We all agree that the top main suture is not present and accounted for.
“The very best for the other two is a suture position no other hominid has, or the natural breaking point from the main thickest, largest part of the skull plate containing both eyebrow ridges. Either way it is not three, that is an absolute no, that is the agreed academic base in our deductions, so there is positively no hominid residing inside here, this has to be something new in classification.”
Taking other measurements into account, such as the no-forehead skull running 2cm longer and 2cm wider at the face than any human past or present, Steven and Evan report that the brain capacity of the unclassified being points to the smartest animal to ever live on this planet.
Not only are there face irregularities to ours, including the no-forehead skull’s eyes being 46% larger than humans, the body measurements also highlight skeletal differences.
In particular, the no-forehead species boasts a humerus [upper arm] bone of 45cm in contrast to the human measurement of 30cm, suggesting it would be barely functional in this gravity.
They continued: “There is so much more at variance and literally nothing that matches.
“Owing to the geographic spread of these skulls, and high degree of ceremony given to the complete skeleton still at the burial site, there is absolutely no chance these skulls are all due to an isolated mutation restricted to the Australian mainland.
“The indigenous custodians of America, in particular the Cherokee, and American academics have gone on record stating that the same type of large-eyed, no-forehead ‘people’ were in America before they came onto their current tribal estates.”
In support of these claims, an article printed in November 1930 adds weight to the evidence after multiple no-forehead skulls were found on a farm in Bradfordsville, Kentucky.
The discovery was made as the farmer began filling in a swampy spot on his land, accompanied by several co-workers, only to find an astonishing fourteen skeletons.
All of the skulls uncovered were of exceptional thickness and it was reported “the teeth were far above normal size” while the heads were “flat with practically no forehead”.
The way in which the bones had been buried also raised questions, as the bodies rested between large rocks both under and above them, as their heads rested on mica minerals.
While there is a clear link between the four skulls recently discovered and those from nearly a century ago, it barely scratches the surface of who and what this unknown species is.
This is exactly where Steven and Evan’s expertise comes in, as they plan to present their fascinating findings in upcoming online conference, Our Alien Ancestry: What Comes Next.
