Nobody puts Baby in the corner. They put her under the stars!
That’s right, your favourite blockbusters are coming to an outdoor screen near you so you can kick back with friends under the dreamy summer skies.
Taking place over a rainbow of London locations – including Bishop’s Park in Fulham, Hilly Fields in Brockley, and Ravenscourt Park in Hammersmith – pop-up cinemas will be in bloom across the city to unite film buffs and singalong enthusiasts in post-lockdown freedom.
All you need to do is bring something to sit on and something to keep yourself warm, the Pop-Up Screens team will do the rest.
This means you don’t even need to worry about packing a picnic as there will be food, drink and popcorn on sale from stalls, including veggie options, all of which are situated so that you don’t need to turn your back on the screen and won’t miss a minute of Hollywood action.
Be sure you don’t miss out as tickets are already on sale, with screenings kicking off in July.
It’s worth jumping in early especially as the company vow to honour full refunds should they be forced to cancel due to unforeseen COVID-19 restrictions.
The debut showing falls on July 9, with The Craft (iconic!) at Coram’s Fields in Camden.
Other films on the bill include The Greatest Showman, Dirty Dancing, Grease, Pretty Woman, Ghostbusters, Jaws, and Bohemian Rhapsody.
All you have to do is visit the site and browse by location to discover what theatrics are taking place near you on what date.
Even though the silver screen extravaganza will reign supreme over the height of summer, as Brits, we all know exactly how unpredictable our weather can be.
But, in the words of the Pop-Up Screens crew, “rain schmain”.
In the event the heavens do open, they have said: “We operate in the British summer so it could well snow! If it does rain everyone will get a free poncho.”
So, what are you waiting for, grab your tickets here: Pop-Up Screens.
