Can you empty every other glass by simply touching one of them?

Seeking to sharpen our minds with logic games is not only a fun distraction, but also an excellent mental exercise. Whether to escape the often monotonous pace of the office or to resurrect skills forgotten since school, thinking challenges such as crosswords, sudokus or mathematical puzzles are excellent stimulants. Recently, I rediscovered the pleasure of putting my logic and mathematical skills to the test, by diving back into rules that I had almost forgotten.

The Daily Brain Training Routine

In the warmth of my living room, comfortably seated in my favorite armchair, I often engage in various puzzles to keep my brain alert. These challenges range from IQ tests to math problems found randomly on the internet. Every problem is an opportunity to rub these “nodules of genius” and awaken the competitor in us.

A challenge that stimulates the mind

A colleague recently sent me a puzzle that took me quite a while to solve. The challenge is simple in appearance: empty every second glass. However, the rule is that you can only touch one glass to achieve this. You can see the challenge image below.

If you’re perplexed by this challenge, don’t worry, the solution may seem counterintuitive.

The solution to this challenge

The key is to take the second glass starting from the left and pouring its contents into the fifth glass. So you get a perfect alternation: full, empty, full, empty, full, empty. A great example of simple but effective logic!

Such exercises are not only fun but also help in keeping our brain healthy and sharp. So why not incorporate such challenges into your daily routine?
